Five features of a ‘dream kitchen’ remodel
The Kitchen – the Heart of the Home.
It’s where we nourish our families and ourselves. It’s where we craft the meals that bring the whole family to the table for quality time together.
It’s also, unfortunately, one of the rooms we most wish we could change.
Here are five features to consider when you finally embark on your dream kitchen remodel:
Feature 1: The Range & Oven
A proper range and oven is absolutely essential for any kitchen, regardless of size. There are tons of options out there and believe me, not all of them are created equal. It’s important to pick the one best suited for your needs. Look through a wide variety including electric, gas, different numbers of burners, and multi-oven set ups.
Feature 2: Refrigerator/Freezer
The next piece of pricy equipment is the fridge/freezer. With increasingly high-tech options available, these can get well into the thousands of dollars quickly.
Feature 3: Storage and Organization
It’s maybe the most boring aspect of the kitchen to plan but is absolutely necessary. It’s important to think about how to make the best use of space. Ideally, you’ll be able to carve out enough space for all of the necessary cooking equipment and ingredients to fit comfortably. Think about traditional set ups like keeping things in cabinets in drawers or be more adventurous with wall/ceiling racks.
Feature 4: Countertops
Another easily overlooked aspect of the kitchen is the countertop. While countertops are certainly able to be modified, there’s a good chance that whatever you select will set the tone for the whole space. Think about what aesthetic you want in your kitchen before committing to the counters.
Feature 5: A Bottle of Wine and a Cookbook
Be prepared to celebrate! Plus, it’s never too early to start thinking about new recipes. Your new kitchen should be enjoyed and used.
